The Lonnen is beautiful stone-built cottage, situated at the bottom of a track - or 'lonning'. It is situated around one mile from the B6342, and around four miles south of Rothbury.

The cottage is part of my family's farm and you will see our sheep and cattle from the windows. Pheasants, rabbits and hares - as well as lots of birds - are frequent sights too.

The Lonnen is perfectly placed to explore Northumberland. We are around 40 minutes from Hadrian's Wall, the famous World Heritage site. Alnwick is around 25 minutes away, with its Castle and Gardens. You can reach the beautiful coast in just over half an hour too. It's 20 minutes to Morpeth and 45 minutes to the centre of Newcastle. We are just over half an hour from Newcastle Airport.

There are no public transport links, so we would advise that you have a car to visit The Lonnen. There is plenty of parking.
